Improvement of Voltage Profile using ANFIS based Distributed Power Flow Controller

Abstract:It is customary for the power industry to maintain the voltage at a desired nominal value. The fluctuations in Voltage can be regulated if reactive power is maintained properly. A new device, DPFC, derived from UPFC, controls the reactive power flow at a faster rate. This paper presents a new controlling technique for the Distributed Power Flow Controller (DPFC) . A Neuro Fuzzy controlling technique is proposed for the fast controlling of DPFC. Also the results are compared with existing PI controlling technique. An IEEE 4 bus Transmission system with DPFC at load bus is simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK.

Two Stage Fuzzy Transportation Problem Using Symmetric Trapezoidal Fuzzy Number

Abstract: The transportation problem is one of the earliest applications of linear programming problems. In the literature, several methods are proposed for solving transportation problems in fuzzy environment but in all the proposed methods, the parameters are normal fuzzy numbers. In this paper, a general fuzzy transportation problem is discussed. In the proposed method, transportation cost, availability and demand of the product are represented by symmetric trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. Robust ranking technique is usedfor finding fuzzy optimal solution of fuzzy transportation problem. A numerical example is given to show the efficiency of the method

Design of Energy Meter with One Second Logic for Energy Calculation

Abstract: To improve the economic benefits of electric power enterprises, it is essential to reduce the production cost and energy loss. Further it is also required to improve the metering to provide reliable electric energy metering data, strengthen the effective management of power calculation and adopt an accurate, reliable and systematic electric energy metering mode. In the work presented in this paper, the metering engine is given with voltage and current input. Depending on sampling rate of ADC which is based on line frequency, voltage and current values are sampled and are converted to digital signals. The converted ADC values of voltage and current are read and energy is calculated, accumulated and averaged. So if energy is averaged for a longer duration, then percentage of error decreases

Relevance Of Designing And Developing An Improvised White Board Compass For Teaching Geometrical Construction Concepts In Basic Technology

Abstract: This study described relevance of designing and developing an improvised white board compass for teaching geometrical construction concepts in basic technology. This study also incorporated the methods and approaches of design and development research (DDR) as first proposed in Wang & Hannafin, (2005) and Markauskaite & Reimann, (2008) work as a method in educational research meant to test theory and practicality. Therefore using creative strategies, and models to set important elements, theories and principles that can create learners participation, skill transfer, technical and classroom dynamics, an improvised white board compass was developed for this study and meant to enhance a more learner centered and constructivist approach to the teaching and learning of geometrical construction concepts. Based on this, relevant conclusion was made and recommendations given regarding the Federal Government (FG) improvement on fuel cost reduction and constant electric power supply to reduce the high cost of production which is detrimental to the development of any Nation's economy.

Effect of viscous dissipation on falkner-skin boundary layer flow past a Wedge through a porous medium with slips boundary condition

Abstract: The steady, two dimensional, Flakner-Skan boundary layer flow over a stationary Wedge with momentum and thermal slip boundary conditions and the temperature dependent thermal conductivity in the presence of porous medium and viscous dissipation. Using the similarity transformations, the governing equations have been transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations. These differential equations are highly nonlinear which cannot be solved analytically. Therefore, bvp4c MATLAB solver has been used for solving it. Numerical results are obtained for the skin-friction coefficient and the local Nusselt number as well as the velocity and temperature profiles for different values of the governing parameters, namely, Falkner-Skin parameter, thermal conductivity parameter, velocity slip parameter, thermal slip parameter and Eckert number

Improvement of friction testing machine and study on friction test

Abstract: In order to improve microcomputer control multi-functional friction testing machine MMS-2A, put forward with PLC control stepper motor method, and the stepper motor drives the spring compression friction pair, this method replace the original method, which operated by manual. Studied the effect of load on friction coefficient on the improved machine show that, the improved machine is more convenient to use, and the accuracy is greatly improved; In a certain range, the friction coefficient decreased with the increase of the load; At the same speed, with the increase of the load, scratches of the pin surface is increased, the main type of wear forms are abrasive wear and adhesive wear.
